Hi Folks - Trying to determine if the exhaust manifolds I have are the correct ones for my 67 GT500 - I currently have headers installed and would like to return to the original exhaust system. Casting numbers are as follows -
C70E-9430-C (Dated 7A6) and C70E-9431-A (Dated 7C8). The Exhaust manifolds where in the trunk when I purchased the car years ago and I really have no idea if they are correct for the car. Any suggestions on where might be the best place to purchase the remainder of the exhaust system would also be helpful - I'm not sure if the systems offered by Mustangs Unlimited, CJ Pony or Branda are really any good in terms of fitment or appearance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Ed

Right side should be a C6OE. With any big block manifold make sure you have the checked and milled for trueness before installing. The stock style transverse exhaust kits the big suppliers sell are "OK" as far as fit. Not perfect but if you take the time to fit it they will be fine.

I figured I'd dig this one back up instead of starting a new thread.
Is it possible that early cars had the C6 on the RH side and later had the C7?

The reason I ask is because I have seen Sets of both C7 and sets of C6 + C7 both claiming to have been removed from a 67 gt500.

I have my engine out right now and I just looked at the exhaust manifolds. They have the same casting numbers as the ones you have. One is dated December 27, 66 the other January 9, 67. I always assumed they were original/correct (I have owned the car over 20 years) but I am not sure now. Could these be correct or are they incorrect for sure.
