Hello all hope you all well I am from england and own a 67 shelby gt500 that is currently being restored however i woundered if any one could help me with some questions regarding a 1969 shelby gt350. 1. I no this may be a long shot but does any one have a original r/h shelby fender for a 69 shelby in good shape forsale? 2.On the under neath of the 1969 shelby drivers side not sure about passengers theres a aluminium casing that 2 pipes go throw with the words shelby stamped on them and a number which i dont have at the min but will post soon could any tell me if they were a production feature for the 1969 shelby or not and the purpose for them. 3.Ford tookover shelby production at the end of 1967 i believe correct me if im wrong and then shelbys where built by ford a.o smith i think. So my guess is that for the 1969 shelby it got the same rear suspension as a mach 1 big block or mustang v8 however the shelby we have got in seems to have rear shocks and leaf springs as normal however it has a weird second set of shocks in the shape of a circle mounted on the chassis at the rear did shelbys only recieve this upgrade? was it a production feature or just what a previous owner has added on? Im ok on 65 66 67 68 shelbys and know a good amount of knowledge on 69s and 70s however this has baffeled me hope you guys can help me out as i know you guys all love your shelbys like me. Hope you can help take care all Dave
I own a 69 shelby and have worked on others and have not seen either one of the items you are looking to identfy. The extra shock is not Shelby and the other part ?? Do you have a picture??? Dominic
I was cleaning out my garage and have the following up for sale. I have an "after market" set of fenders that were manufactured off the original Shelby Fender Molds. I had a difficult timing locating. Took forever to receive them as well... Also have a trunk lid for a convertible, tail light panel, 2 hoods and 2 Chrome Hood Pieces Like New. The hoods are in pretty great shape. One has a small hole that can easily be repaired. The other is perfect. Will sell at my cost. These were all made from original Shelby Molds. Hope this helps. Hay there I have a photo of the extra shock absorbers on the 1969 shelbys that i found on another forum on here however cant find the forum now? however i am posting a photo can you please tell if these shock absorbers where factory fitted? did the big block mach 1s and normal big block mustangs have these or where they just on the shelbys? Also do you know if any where sells these new or can they be refilled with oil, are these obselete? Also as soon as i get the part number and a photo of the alumium covers that cover the torque boxes i will post the number stamped on them and a picture also. I am grate full for all your help thanks again Dave
Dave where did you post the picture? Sounds like it might be a traction device that someone added to reduce wheel hop..... sold in the late 70's if I recall correctly. Have seen them on other Shelbys ... but not factory Sounds like allot of previous owner stuff Dave...look forward to some pictures
Hay guys thank you for information still getting a pic of the aluminium casings on this 1969 shelby gt350 hopefully i have uploaded the photo of these extra shock absorbers with a arm coming of them(just above rear brakes on photo cant miss) also thank you for your offer on the fenders i have asked the owner and he says cause its having a concorse restoration he wishes to have original fenders so if any one else has a rh front fender for a 1969 shelby please let me know.If photo has worked then can you please tell us if these were original on the shelbys and big block mustangs(as i thought suspension would of been the same like 67 big block mustang have same as 67 shelbys i believe and same with 68 know that 66 and 65 shelbys veried from there cousin the mustang for them 2 years) also are they avaliable anywhere to buy or obsolete? thank you all so much for help its been brilliant cheers again Dave
