To prevent my own sending of multiple messages, I ensure only the list is addressed. Before I hit the "SEND" button, I usually look at the TO: abd CC: blocks, and delete individual's names. Some eMail software automatically sends relies out to eveyone's address of the original message-- list, sender, replyee, etc. etc. This can be adjusted in the software's options section most folks usually never need to adjust.
