Does anyone know if the proper way to stripe a hertz is to remove grille mldgs, bumpers, trunk, etc.? I am down to stripes on a hertz and want to be correct. How far did they go down on cowl?

Since you should be looking at doing it as Shelby did since its a Hertz, rather than a dealer (instructions were sent to dealers for this purpose) it appears that the bumpers were not removed, gas cap was (though neck was masked off), grill trim in place and so on.

The depth at the cowl (from original cars) would have been approx 1/4" at max

thanks for the help. I just wonder now if i remove bumpers and mldgs. Will that be considered incorrect and point deductions.

Depends where you show it, on the class entered and the judge. ;) Generally your doing it the same way 95% of owners/shops do it. Doesn't make it correct though

Will be hard to well for sure if you removed the grill trim I would think. One of the current ones I'm helping with will have overspray on the filler gasket to confirm it was in place.
