SAAC has posted this Response to the Letter from Carroll Shelby Licensing Attorney "Neil Cummings". this is posted on SAAC's New ONLINE FORUM! http://saacforum.com/index.php?topic=3.msg0;boardseen#new
It seems to me that we need more info from SAAC regarding the dispute at hand. It seems rather presumptuous to me to immediatetely put their hand out for donations for their legal fund without more facts. I completely trust SAAC and support their endeavors, but I think more information should be passed to their members before they reach into their wallets. Jon
what type of FACTS do you consider Shelby's Attorney's Letter to be? or SAAC's response to it as another fact and how they outline their reasoning. as they stated, "no donation too small". why not just send them $1.00 dollar and you can always say you contributed as much as you felt necessary based on the "Facts" you were presented with!!! Although your words remind me of a similar dilemma I once had: I always thought Sally Struthers was too fat to say Kids in Ethiopia needed something to eat. my thoughts were like, "She should give up half her plate and feed half the Country and thin back down at the same time". But I guess seeing all those kids with flys landing on them did not seem like enough facts to me at that time either. so I guess I can kind of relate to your issue?? Just kidding of course! I sent the Kids $20.00 Dollars and I mailed Sally Struthers a Jenny Craig Pamphlet!! Protect your Investment as SAAC has done for you all these years.
Right on! This is a for real situation. If you own a Shelby American produced vehicle; Cobra or Shelby, you had best pay attention. My contribution to SAAC'c Defense Fund is on the way. Do nothing now, and you might regret it in a couple of years from now. shlby66
I suppose you guys are right. When I sent in my info, it was supposed to be for SAAC's eyes only. It would seem that this info should not be used by another entity without permission from the people who sent it in. As said in the SAAC letter, Mr. Shelby has given no reason for this. I guess this is where my confusion comes from. There is usually two sides to every story. I do know one thing, my car will be one of a handful of original Shelbys without the man's signature on the dashboard. That was a decision made long before this dispute. Jon
Jon, Just like 95% of the people in this Hobby, the general concensus here and elsewhere is that all of this is unnecessary. but it is obvious the course has been set, Hired Guns will get paid their Retainers and have at it. at the end of it all, we the enthusiasts will determine what direction to go. I am an Optimist. I see it all working out someday, just not as soon as I would have liked.
