Excellent advice. Dave Mathews from SAAC directed me to Mick Mckinnon.

When I was hunting for a Shelby project I found a 68 shelby GT-350. The car looked good from the pictures the seller sent me. It looked like maybe I found the Shelby I was hunting for. I called Dave Mathews at SAAC and he told what history was on file with SAAC. Dave Mathews then recommended Mick Mckinnon to go out and inspect the car. THANK GOD i took his advice!!. Mick saved me from making a HUGEEEE $55,000 mistake!!! Turns out the car was so badly rusted that It would have taken WAYYYYY more money to restore it then the car would have been worth in the end.:noway: Dont make a financial mistake that you will surely regret. Email me and I can give you Micks number if your interested.

When my hunting continued for a Shelby, I finally found a 67 Shelby that fit my budget and my wants. Dalton Dave and Dominic were indirectly involved with the 67 Shelby I ended up purchasing. As a matter of fact the AVatar picture you see on my profile was taken by Dominic when it was pulled from storage hell. I would trust all three of those guys without thinking twice. Whatever you do, get someone to help you!!!

thanks Jim......I will be taken your advice IF this does in fact develope. I still am not sure about this guy letting go of the car yet. He really does not have it for sale but may be "swayed" I am not taking anything he says too seriously.

I have come across a few old guys like that when I go to my local cruise in every Thursday night. A lot of them have cars that they say they want to sell. When serious offers come to them they disappear, dont answer the phone, make some excuse not to sell, on and on and on. Sometimes when it comes down to it they just like the attention and they like the feeling of having something that someone wants. Heck that guys 85. what else can he offer at his age that gets people to knock on his door? If he says yes to you and sells the car he knows that the knocks on his door will stop. Maybe he doesnt really want that to happen and hes just a lonely guy. Time will tell and maybe that Shelby will be yours. So dont give up, your Shelby is out there man!

Rollcage? Just a roll bar....I don't want to sound rude, but you need to be able ID years, decode numbers and understand the basic features BEFORE you even think about buying a car. Especially, a car that has been around for awhile or you have a very high potential of becoming a fish and getting eaten by a shark.

    bullitt0955,
I'll also offer my services if you are in a pinch and Dominic or Dave aren't available (provided I'm free at the time). I'm in your general area and have been around these cars for about thirty years. Like Jim said:
    Good hunting! :guns:

Coral Snake- it is not rude for you to say and the information I have so far is vague for the reason I have not physically touched the car yet. What you saw in the pictures is what I have seen. It is a friend of mine that located the car and made contact with the owner. He has been looking for sometime for me now in locating a Shelby. I was suspicious when he told me the car had a 390 in it (which to my knowledge they were NOT available) it just very well be a 302 in a 1968 car. By it's looks, that is what I thought it was but my buddy was told, it was a 67.
