"He tells me that he knows the original owner out west & they got to document all markings of the car from the original Super Snake owner who paid 5 million dollars for it & this car is a carbon copy of that car down to the markings"

Wow...Charley i didn't know you paid 5 million for the Super Snake?! I was at Barrett Jackson when the 427 Cobra Super Snake sold for 5 million...but i wasnt aware that the 67 Super Snake sold for 5 million as well.

    This smells fishy.

There seems to be a few more youngsters (young skulls full of mush) over on the other forum. But hey, you gotta start somewhere. They'll figure it out sooner or later. :lmao:

I have watched that car being built from the ground up. The workmanship is excellent and second to none in fact it is built with all the hard to find original Shelby parts that are missing on many genuine cars. It was built to be extremely concours accurate to a 67 Shelby GT500. If I were judgeing it at a SAAC event and it was a genuine GT500, the car would score in the area of a DIV II Gold level because of the workmanship and correct parts. I would have liked to see it more faithful to original 67 Shelby GT500 Supersnake other then the stripe scheme. I think there were other considerations I was not privy to. Hopefully it will raise a lot of money for the Make a Wish foundation.

The only thing I can see that resembles my car is the stripes.

Oh boy is this just a taste of whats to come? Already people think clones are the real thing. Thank GOD we STILL have SAAC to confirm whats real and whats not. I read that entire thread at TEAM SHELBY and everyone was convinced the car was the real deal. If Team Shelby gets hold of all the Shelby documents were screwed. They will label everything as "REAL". I'm going to clone #3000. They made 2 of them you know?:noway:

    My opinion,
    Jim

The forums seems geared towards the new cars so I don't expect to much knowledge over there!!!

Those young pups are the future of our hobby;not all that educated yet,but enthusiastic. We are the keepers of the tales of old;facts, stories what were myths and what really happened, lets not alienate that group but help them along....besides they are young and thier chicks are still hot,and most will share thier beer(they always have LOTS of beer).

Hey, that was not very nice, I believe that we are trying to bring two generations together, if you guys feel that over on stangs that they are wrong or, then post it,( nicely please) we need to bring the new with the old together.

I promise you that if someone was trying to pass off a clone of a GT500 these guys would know in a heart beat that it was not real.

There is something we can learn form each other and bringing both sides together both sides have a passion for there cars.

On a side not these guys with this supposed Super Snake called me and is pushing hard that this car is real. They where doing a tour for charity and the car was traveling.

Sharon...I'm not sure what is real about it other than it is a Mustang. If I went out and bought a plain 67 Mustang, painted it white and added the three stripes it would probably be just as accurate. I have had many requests for ther stripe dimensions so I finally posted them on my web site to make it easier. But it seems like there will be new SuperSnakes popping up every day. I wish him luck with his charity but if the car is as nice as Bob Gaines stated, he probably should have just done it as a GT500 clone without the three stripes and it would have been much more accurate.

Let me clarify, I am not saying that this car is real. I was saying that the guy is pushing this car as real. As far as I know there is only one 67 Super Snake.

I sure agree, Sharon. That ideal has to be passed down to some of the moderators there...who keep locking and deleting threads that have anything to do with the discussion of the legal actions that are keeping the two groups apart.

I think everyone on the street wants the peace.

As far as the "new" SuperSnake... if they started with a non-Shelby 1967 car, it is a replica...a tribute car..whatever.

I hope they raise a dumpster of cash for Make-a-Wish, but not at the expense of legitimacy. If Shelby Autos were to grant an 'imprimatur' on this car as genuine...like the Unique Perf cars... I truly don't know what I would say....

I believe that Shelby autos is not associated with this supposed " super snake" car or the charity that he is trying to promote with it. .

...I think it was mentioned either in the discussion on your site, or on the web page promoting the car...that they were trying to get SA to grant "genuine" status to the car.
