Ill be honest with you sharon...after joining stangsunleashed i was absolutely in awe and downright surprised at how rude people are over there.....that is why i have yet to even post anything over there.
I have no problem with being frank and dont feel that what i said was "mean". Any person who were to do even the slightest bit of research would know that car is fake. Why is that guy pushing the car so heavily...from reading the post...he doesnt own it.
Dont get me wrong, the car is for a great cause and it sounds like it was done well and i certainly hope it sells for good money.
By the way, that "kid" has over 5,000 post on that site to date...............
    Best Regards,
    Vern

Stangs Unleashed has changed the title on the thread now to "Carstar recreaction of the legendary Super snake".

You were right Computerworks, Amy did state that Carstar wanted their blessing on the car. But even Amy stated it was a re-creation and did not think it would receive their blessing.

I am tired of people trying to f#%@ with the legitimacy of these cars. If it wasnt built at or by Shelby from 1965 to 1970 then the car is a copy or a fake or tribute or recreation or clone and these cars have their place. That place however is not in the registry or traveling around the country misleading people into donating money. Make a wish is a great cause and i hope that a lot of money is raised to help make these kids dreams come true. But at what expense? Lies?

Computerworks is lobbying for peace...i say enough is enough. Anything worth having is worth fighting for.

Last time i checked some guy driving a 02 mustang with ground effects, a tuner exhaust and gauges on the pillar wasn't rolling with hot chicks...and if sharing a twelve pack of warm Natural Light over stories of racing moms in mini vans is your idea of a good time look me up i can promise more fun.

Quite frankly, I'm disappointed in all your negative & egotisticial comments. I'm the one who posted the pic's & the story as it was told to me by Dick Cross of Carstar. I took notes & reported what I was told. I included weblinks to verify the info I was told, then many of you come over their & want the thread CANNED because I labeled the topic to make it sound real. Over there if your topic sounds boring it dies out real quick, give it a snappy title & it gets mega hits.

The ONLY person I will say sorry to is Charley.

ps: SAAC treated me & my 2007 Shelby GT500 like we were an outcast & all I can say is they have what they have coming to them & if the value of your cars go down so be it.

Everybody calm down. It wasn't that big of a deal. I'm sorry if you were ignored by SAAC. If you were asking for advise or input and got none it was probably because we know very little about the new cars. Most of the SAAC people I have met have been great. There is room for everyone. The new Shelby's are neat but most of us are sick of Carroll giving his blessing and calling old Mustangs Shelby's for a fee. I have seen some dolled up cars at auction that were licensed by Shelby and asking 150K over what a equal Mustang was worth. They didn't sell and they probably won't sell. Now he is going after the SAAC trademark in a effort I assume to shut SAAC down or charge them a fee to use the SAAC name. I have donated to SAAC's legal fund and I won't be buying a new Shelby because of his actions. I was on the fence about buying a SuperSnake but now I absolutely won't. I'm fairly sure he has lost more sales because of this than he will ever make up in fees charged. Hopefully enough people will complain to Ford to pressure him to back off of SAAC. I feel for all the employees that have to take the brunt of this.

Last thing im going to say is that if the value goes down on the old cars than the value of yours will immediatly go down. Right....the value of the old cars will go down and hell will freeze over. Unless we somehow slip into a terrible economy and the classic car market goes completely sour(in which case the shelbys would probly be amoung the last cars to really drop in value here in the US of A), dont count on values going down anytime soon!
Do you think the values of the your car would be anywhere near what they are right now if it werent for the old stuff? Give me a break!!!

    Hay all
just read the thread and i have to say there is only one super snake and that charles no clones come close.
I am 17 years old and my dad brought me for my 15th birthday a 67 shelby gt500 that a friend of his found it was confirmed by saac and its original but i am young i have sat for hours and hours studying information on these cars and learning stuff from you guys also:) and there is one youth out there that will not subject to all the new stuff.
hope all of you is well

Some how we are getting off subject here. The problem is that the clone they are claiming is an exact replica is not even close. If you can spot mistakes like wrong high beam lights from just a picture I wonder if it is close to Charley's car at all.

The clone has inboard lights. The SuperSnake has outboard lights with the grill chromed around the lights. The real car has hood louvers, the clone doesn't. The real has a single carb aluminum headed 427, the clone has a dual quad somethin. If you go to www.supersnake.org I have posted detail pics of the real car and compare for yourself. It appears to me that he built a regular GT500 clone, added my stripes and then called it a SuperSnake. I don't see any other detail that looks like a attempt to look like mine.

Charley and all reading this post, I have throughly examined the car. The car dose not have any of the Super Snake upgrades that Charley's car has nor does it have outboards. It only has the Super Snake stripe scheme. It is a extremely nice correctly built 67 GT500 replica at this point. I am good friends With Jeff Yergovich of R+A Motorsports who was commissioned to build the car by Dick Cross ,head of Carstar (auto collision shops across the US) . I met Dick Cross and he is a enthusiastic car guy(A nice one at that). Dick has been brought over from the Dark Side to the Ford power way of thinking since he started this project . All of the Carstar people I have met seem to be first class people. I am not privy to all the particulars because I am not involved with the project. Jeff's R+A shop is were I get my body and paint work done and so I couldn't help seeing and hearing things about the Superstang project. I agree with Charlie that if they were not going to make it closer to the original SS they would have been better off painting a regular Le Manns stripe on it and referring to it as a GT500 replica or tribute car. If it ever gets "blessed " by Shelby at least it will be closer then the E cars. I wanted to give some first hand info from a Shelby forum member. I do not know why the Superstang name was picked or any other particulars except that all money raised during the car's tour and ultimate sale has gone or will go to to the Make a Wish foundation. The Carstar people are enthusiastic and proud of the car . If it seems like they embellished a thing or two about the car I don't think for a second it was done with malicious intent but because they are not really up to speed on the Shelby Marque. I think they will do good for the charity.
