I have decided to purchase a 08 SGT vert. A Ford dealers has offered to sell me a 08 SGT vert but it is white w/gold stripes. I thought all 08s where vista blue w/silver stripes. How do I know i am getting the real deal when i purchase. Can a dealer order a GT in any color and then send it to shelby to have the 08 SGT package installed?

As far as I have heard and read all of the '08 Convertibles are Vista Blue. Just make sure that it has the serial numbered Shelby plate on the dash and the serial numbered plate in the engine compartment. It sounds kind of like your seeing somthing that they have just made into a clone. They are making some special editions like the Barrett-Jackson, but those are all going to be Black. :cigar:

    I second that...........
A lot of Dealers create their own and call it a Shelby. The bad part is that so many Dealerships are changing owners so fast it is hard to keep up. The Dealership here in Tallahassee has had 6 Owners in 7 Years.

I got the VIN number for a black 2008 GT vert that the dealer says is a limited addition Shelby GT, i entered that number on the Shelby Automobile inc. website "check status of your Shelby GT page" and this number comes up and shelby says it is a 08 shelby gt convertible in ebony clearcoat. What gives? I am still wondering if this means that a dealer can order a SGT in any color, but maybe they will only make a limited number in Vista blue. Anybody else know what is going on? Brian if you are still there what do you think. Gordyk:confused:

Most of the 2008 cars are Vista Blue. The first 219 cars are Grabber Orange as a special edition for Southern California. The last 100 cars are Black with red stripes as Barrett-Jackson special edition for Arizona.

Thats the only thing I can come up with..........maybe its a Barrett-Jackson car. I also am under the impression that those will only be availible in Arizona.:cigar:

this dealer with the black SGT is in Arizona, he says the car hasnt arrived yet, but i can have it when it comes, if i pay a deposit. So, how will i find out if it is a Barrett-Jackson now before we actually see it?

At this point, that is all that it can be. I'm pretty sure that it will be a Barrett-Jackson edition. There will only be 100 of them so it will be pretty rare.:cigar:

The only Black cars being made for 08 in the SGT configuration are the Barrett Jackson cars. I assume only a few, meaning less than 5 have probably have been converted. The prototypes. You should see the actual car the week of January 13 when 08 Barrett Jackson kicks off.

There were no 08's in White made or being planned. Production is set for Grabber Orange Cali editions, Vista Coupes and Verts and the Black and Red stripe BJ cars.

Hi All, Roger is correct, there are no white 08 cars, and certainly none with gold stripes, only hertz has that stripes. When checking, make sure there is a Shelbyautos engine tag and dash plaque, as someone posted you can also check the vin in the Vin checker at
