8t03j183076-03088 has been stored for the past twenty five years .She is currently in my garage waiting for me to save enough money to put her back on the road.
Whats the original color of # 3088 ? Was this a factory installed aluminum intake car? Is that intact ? Drop me an email if you need some moral support, always looking for new car friends. Jeff- just looked up your serial number, do you know have a car that was original sent to Minar Ford and assigned to Playboy Enterprises as the first "owner"? Your car was used at the Playboy mansion in Wisconsin. I will bet you some bunnies sat on those seats. Please email me. Coralsnake68@hotmail.com http://www.thecoralsnake.com/Northwestern
The car was born dark green . It was painted black in 73 when my father-inlaw purchased it for my brides high school graduation gift .It does have the aluminum intake .We didn`t know about the Playboy connection .The owners manual shows it was sold at Minor Ford to Charles Olson of St.Paul . My wife thought she was the second owner and remembers it was purchased from a private party that bought it new .Mabe Charles was connected to Playboy ?
Most likely the car was returned to Minar in a gently used condition, then resold as a demonstrator. Hey, maybe your wife was a bunny? I would love to a history story of your car for my website. If you want to discuss that, drop me an email. You can read some of the stories here: www.thecoralsnake.com/History Pete
The wife is a bunny , just not for Playboy !! As far as the full history goes I`m more interested in trying to value the car in the current condition. I see prices all over the place and would like to know the value as it sits , and if we can ever afford to restore it ( I`ve heard everywhere from 35k to 75k for restoration ), what it would be worth when done . Any advice on how to value this car ? We have had some offers over the years , but so far have held on to the dream of getting her back on the road.
Yes, I can help you with that. I have a price guide on my website and can help you determine the value pretty closely. I have 25 years experience with just 1968 Shelbys. I don't do anything else. Drop me an email and we can discuss the details. Restoration costs differ because people have different labor rates and different ability levels. Basically you get what you pay for. The concern with a GT350 is the values tend to be less than a GT500 or a KR and sticking $75,000 into the car may not be the best option. A lot depends on the current condition. Best to discuss this in private, in case you decide not to restore the car. You don't need your dirty laundry all over the internet. I am sure you will be flooded with offers to try to take this car now. www.thecoralsnake.com/Price.HTML
