Since these are next to impossible to find what do you do? are they the same as say an after market balancer? I know the size is diffrent but is the balance the same? what is it 28.4 oz? and yes I know about the hatchet to offset the weight of the larger con rod bolts so my concern is just the harmonic balancer

    thanks
    Kerry

Kerry, they are out there but expensive .On Ebay you see one every couple months. The C8 service balancer is much less valuable and seen more often on places like Ebay. The C8 hipo balancer is a direct replacement but doesn't look exactly identical. From a mechanical standpoint there are many offerings that are superior to the original . The after market unit is generic looking and only mildly looks like the hipo balancer. Even though the balancers can be just bolted on and run as is for best performance it is a good idea to have it balanced with the rotating assembly.

I know but since I don't have an original I can't get it rebuilt. Damper Doctor can rebuild them but they don't have any old ones in stock

    thank you

As Bob G. mentioned, aftermarket ones will work fine. And if you want an original, they can be had on ebay or place an "am looking for.." ad on:
