My '05 C6 has seriously angered me, so I am thinking of dumping it for a Shelby GT. A Dallas-area dealer is advertising one for $5000 under sticker. Is anyone seeing these cars for cheaper than this?

I am also having trouble finding an options price list for the Shelby GT. I tried my usual source, www.kbb.com, and did a google search, but came up empty. I found the invoice/option prices for Mustangs and even the GT500, but not the GT.

Can anyone provide some insight? Thanks.

Have you tried simply calling Shelby Autos in LV, who make the car?

I just did a little field research on the msrp issue and visited my local ford dealership, bob allen ford in kansas city.
They said they are selling strong for way over msrp....they want 20 over for a 500 hardtop....25-30 over for a conv 500....and 10 over for a GT.
Odly enough, i visited there over a month ago and since...none of the shelbys had moved:cool:
And actually, the salesman did try to sell me a 2007 shelby gt 350.
It was about that time that i realized that not only were the not moving any cars for that much over msrp, but also they didnt even know what they were selling!
    Best Regards,
    Vern

I have exchanged several communications with my local Ford dealer about the Shelby GT that I saw on his lot. The newspaper ad stating that the car is being sold for $5k under sticker is a total fraud. The actual price is MSRP + $7k dealer markup - $5k discount.

I told him that I'll pass on the deal, and told him to get back to me when the price is $5k below the true MSRP. He has had a pair of 2007s on his lot for many months already, so I'm not too worried about him selling either of them any time soon.

I've noticed that the Shelby's are starting to stay on lots quite a bit longer. Perhaps, the ADM craze is dying out now - but hope springs eternal for those dealers with stock on hand. I've noticed the cars that seem to sell on Ebay are at or below MSRP too.

Maybe it's winter, maybe something else...

Perhaps everybody that had to have one at an inflated price have gotten theirs already. Now the Dealers will have to cater to the second wave of Buyers: The "MSRP Crowd"!!

Bought mine in April this year at $500 over INVOICE. Currently there is $1000 cash back on 08's and 07's through the end of the year are 1.9% for 72mo and 0% for 60 mo.

I have seen 07's currently at $1000 under invoice. Somewhere in the $35,000 range for a new 07 with IUP, Sirius, wheel locks and the mandatory, GT upfitters package. That's about $3500-$4000 under sticker. The deals are out there especially now that we are at the end of the year and "serious" dealers want to move inventory for the month end and year end for accounting and sales goal purposes.

You may need to search out of your area. I am in the NE and bought from a dealer in the South East.

When I was looking at my 08 SGT, I was lucky because I have great relationship with my dealer. He let me buy the car with Xplan pricing and then added on the Shelby pricing. I saw one just the other day in another dealer's showroom, and they had $47,000.00 on it.
We Shelby folks, will always know more than any salesperson out there, unless they are part of the Shelby family. It would seem the salespeople would have learned this by now.

I bought an 07' back in late October. The dealer took $ 2,600 off MSRP and and I got a $ 1,000 rebate. I am happy with my deal. When I looked in the spring everybody was trying to get 8-10K ADM :noway: .

I saw an ad in the local newspaper this morning that was advertising brand new GT500's, GT350's, Rousch, Etc.... They STILL don't know what they are selling! And when I look up the prices online the GT500's are $46,000 so at least that's not a case of rape.

You could be right, DaltonDavid, that is the way previous GT's and GT-H's have gone, for sure. 60K for the 06 GT-H's out of the chute, then selling for 25K towards the end. I am curious where the GT-H convertibles are that have been released by Hertz; at least I haven't seen many ... and they are upwards of 60K too. The 1 dealer I know with an 08 GT hardtop (blu/silv) has had it on the lot for about 3 weeks.

The volatility of these prices has been one of the surprises since I've started learning the ropes on what to get; patience IS a virtue here.

    Happy New Year everyone.

I recently bought an '08 SGT Coupe in the Dallas area and the sales rep at the dealership told me that this car didn't have a suggested retail for a combined package. The MSRP was listed separately on the sticker of the Base Mustang GT and the sticker of the Shelby modifications. He thought it was ridiculous to price the coupes over $40k because there just wasn't enough car there for the price in his opinion. I was even able to haggle the price down further with him but not by much. The Convertibles will obviously raise the price but I didn't really look into the convertibles much.

I'm in Dallas and am getting ready to make a purchase. From whom did you buy your SGT, and what was the price?

Grand Prairie Ford. I bought the last '08 coupe from them for around $39k but they only have 1 '08 SGT convertible left which does cost more and they are waiting on a grill to replace a defective one when they received the car so it may be in their back lot. Definitely call them first before going over there. They were only allotted to sell 3 - 4 of these '08 SGT models. I was just lucky that they had one left.

If you aren't set on a blue / silver or convertible, I think there are still many dealers holding the white / silver or black / silver (07 models) and it looks like many are finally ready to treat these sales like any other car - in other words, you start negotiating at MSRP and work your way down, plus rebates or other incentives. Many people are reporting sales anywhere from $33k to $36k for the 07 models. FYI - a new Bullit is something like $33k, for comparison's sake. Good luck!
