Are you assuming that someone would save the remains for thirty years? My bet is that the insurance company pay out, and the bank send it ro the bone yard. Admittedly what happens from there is anybodies guess.

Might I suggest that when we come along with a camera, and a seemingly totalled Shelby, write down the Vin number so that it could be reported to any future registrar of the new Shelbys. I can see 30 years from now this one being an "owner unknown".
I was thinking the same thing, same with the mileage write down, or include a pic of the dashboard, VIN # and serial # if applicable. There should be a way to add these "wrecked" cars to the registry.
