I have the opportunity to purchase an 07 SGT with 1100 miles for $36K that has been modified with a Whipple Supercharger from Ford --500 hp kit and Dynospeed Racing tuning package with programmable ECU.. My question is that I understand that this modification would probablly void the power train warranty. Is it worth buying this modified car or would it be better to purchase a stock version for $32K? I think the modifications were $10K any thoughts??????
Re: 07 GT Supercharger??????????????? As mentioned in earlier posts, both the Whipple and Paxton Superchargers are available from SAI as add ons. When purchased thru SAI I believe you still have the warranty (not certain, but would like to know). Personally if it wasn't done by SAI it won't have the same value to me, but that's just my opinion. check the thread about "Supercharging a Shelby GT".
07 Sgt Supercharged!!!!!! Is 36k A Good Price For A 07 Supercharged Sgt ? The Car Has 1110 Miles On It In New Condition??? Any Thoughts???
Re: 07 Sgt Supercharged!!!!!! Is it a factory supercharged car, was it taken to the mod shop, or was it owner installed? Is it a Paxton, Whipple, or niether? Makes a huge difference to me. Best Regards, Vern
Re: 07 GT Supercharger??????????????? Ford Racing is warrantying the Whipple supercharger setup. robin
Re: 07 GT Supercharger??????????????? "Any time you add a performance part that did not come on the original car, it will alter the warranty. If the s/c causes a powertrain problem (as deemed by Ford) it will void the power train warranty. This is where the s/c warranty comes into play. It will be then up to the manufacturer of the component to make the decision whether to pick up the warranty or not." So if ya puke the motor due to the supercharger you're screwed! Ford won't cover it, and I'll bet neither will the supercharger manufacturer!
