that see through window looks lame. I would have rather had a big humongous supercharger poking through the hood as if there was too much power in the car to contain it within the body. It looks so limpid in the pictures, maybe in person it will be better.

And then too, why link it in name to the ZR-1 which as I recall (I only drove on in a racetrack in the rain and was scared to push it to its full potential) wasn't all that fast and had an engine that nobody talks about now. In fact I will go so far as to speculate Tony Rudd, the engine designer, pulled the wool over GM's eyes when he sold them that four cam engine, probably a leftover from Lotus' parts bin. It only took Chevrolet a few years to build a pushrod engine that blew that 4-cam off the racetrack. So why name it after a loser?

And the styling is still more Gee-Whiz vents and scoops and whatnot, when what they need is a new roof style that doesn't still say "1994."

That's my two cents worth, and that's from a former Corvette copywriter

    Wallace,
Did you take the wrong exit on the world wide web? I think you wanted to go here with this post http://forums.corvetteforum.com/index.php? :D

    Hi to all,
This is just my opinion but I think it is interesting when we can share
our thoughts about other cars that hold our interest. This site becomes
more dynamic with conversation that includes some new subjects once
in a while. I own a Shelby car but am always thinking about expanding
my collection to include other brands. Happy New Year to all at the forum.

The old ZR1 was amazing and the new one looks like it will be equally amazing.

I think the car might be a little over the top for a car with only 95 horses over a normal factory zo6.
None the less.....the car looks alright to me.......but it isnt a shelby.
    Best Regards,

I mighta misinterpreted the reason for this category

but I thought this was for non-Ford talk. Some owners are multi-marque
and I think it does good to talk about other cars that might be tempting you at the moment. My favorite example of being tempted is the Porsche 924 Turbo. When it was new it was $23,000 or so and you could have bought a 289 Cobra used back then. Last time I looked the 924 Turbos are worth about $2000 and the 289 Cobras are worth about $400,000. So much for high technology. And to top it off when I went to the Porsche factory and asked where the 924 assembly line was, they said I'd have to go over to VW....

Another thing that ticks me off about corvettes...

is those little chrome doo-dads the owners insist on putting between their exhaust pipes. They look like something from JC Whitney. Or say the taillight covers that have horizontal chrome bars. Here they take a $40,000 -plus car and affix a $5 piece of aftermarket plastic and try to impress us. I don't notice Ferrari owners doing that.

That's what I like about the Cobra world, when with replicas an owner like Bob Shaw spend a lot of time trying to get back to the original look of the Sixties, not heap their car with fake chrome.

That being said, I kind of miss my '69 Corvette coupe with 350 cu. in. Aside from throwing AC belts all the time when you downshifted it was a great car.

Cant say i like what they have done with the hood either.
Also, i have not taken the time to read about the car....does it have major suspension mods. I would expect that it does as it is being built by the race team that seems to win endurance races like there is no tommarow. (hope it is reliable or else weve got quite the case of irony!)

    Best Regards,
    Vern
