This is my first post here. I don't have a Shelby sure wish I did. I'm building a 70 convertible with a BOSS 302 engine and tremec 5 speed. I'm not going to try a Shelby clone but I do want to put the decklid and end caps on. I love that look. What I need to know is where to buy the best quality and fitting fiberglass parts. Thanks in advance your new friend Mike
I'm doing a 66 350 clone and I've had good luck with Tony Brandas stuff! http://www.cobranda.com/index.html
I read an Article a while back, when all of the Trademark issues happened, that Shelby was limiting WHO was going to be able to Sell Shelby Reproduction Items (Branda is One) and that Proof of Shelby Ownership would be needed. Did that ever go into effect, or will it ever go into effect? David
I cannot help you with a 70 hood since I have a 66 clone. But I can lead you in the right direction. Try Tony Branda or www.cobraparts.com 1. Do not go cheap on fiberglass hoods. You get what you pay for 2. Try to find something with the most steel in it for reinforcement. You do not want all fiberglass because you get flex and bowing. 3. Try to find something that is vacuum sealed. This keeps all the air out of the hood and compresses the fiberglass. Less apt to bubble or bow when the weather changes. Hope this helps. Steve
