You could trade for a P-51, maybe 2, and avoid capital gains...:D

Jack Roush might be able to help you with the Plane. He owns one.

Jack should have my 55 with the P51 engine to park next to his plane.

Does the seller has any real documentation on paper pertaining to the engine's history?
    Best Regards,

I get copies of these threads thru email and smart guy that I am, typed a response and hit send last night...Here it is now that I am awake enough to know I need to post and not email.

In his Ebay description he says... "the Supersnake was delivered with this 427 tunnel port engine. This engine was removed by him and a Lemans engine was installed"... That is contrary to what the orig paperwork says from Shelby and the orig 1967 magazine article. The orig Shelby invoice calls it a "427 lightweight engine". So he is saying it came with a dual quad 427 tunnel port engine and not a 427 lightweight engine like the Shelby paperwork says ? Makes no sense to me. A year ago a broker that is a member of this forum was approached by one of the orig owners and another fellow that had this engine. They were interested in buying my car for 5 mil but wanted to inspect the car to supposedly make sure it was not a rebody. Something smelled fishy so I said fine as long as they put up a 100K deposit that was non refundable unless they proved it was a rebody. They disappeared. I was then told by someone else from Texas that the plan was to build a clone to my car using this engine and somehow try to pass it off as real at Barrett-Jackson. For all I know they were going to duplicate my hidden vin. The engine was a crate engine with no vin so nothing on the ebay engine ties it to my car other than the statement from the orig owner. Neat engine but I have no interest in it and it would be incorrect for my car.
The seller of the engine had offered it to me before it went to Ebay. I told him I had no interest but I would like to see pics of it. Didn't see any pics until someone told me it was on Ebay. My understanding is the seller bought the engine from one of the guys that was going to build a duplicate to my car.
The 1967 Magazine article shows a pic of my engine compartment and it shows and describes a aluminum headed 427 medium riser LeMans engine with single 4bbl, not a tunnel port dual quad 427.
