This has been a long debated issue for many of the Shelby-Dodge enthusiasts. We all know that GLH stands for Goes Like Hell. Two opinions exist on what the S in GLHS stands for. 1. Shelby 2. Some More (or Somemore?) It would be great to hear an answer right from the creator's mouth.
The answer to your question is Supercharged. He says, in relation to the car being Turbocharged, the S is for Supercharged. RS
I saw an article where they interviewed CS and he said some-more. It would make more sense to say Shelby IMO.

I have to agree with you on that and also refer to Carroll Shelby's remarks to the NADA convention in New Orleans on Feb 1, 1986. At that time, he called the car "the GLH Shelby". My source for these remarks is the old SDAC publication Shelby Times #4. I too have seen an article, think it was the GLHS whips GT-350, where CS said it did stand for s'more. I'm not trying to start anything as I know Randall asked Carroll, but I think the answer might be like a lot of things that get changed as time goes on. It will probably depend on which day you ask as to which answer you get.
I think this is a good point. I I can tell you is that I asked him the question and responded here with the answer I received. You have to understand however, Carroll is as much a salesman as anything else and he will say whatever sounds appropriate for the moment. (How else are you gonna get Ford and AC together to make the Cobra? It took a bit of storytelling on both ends to make it happen.) So, in my opinion, that's what you have here. He may have said other things in the past that sounded good at the time, but this is what he has told me now so everyone can take it for whatever they prefer. LOL...you got that right. You get him around SD owners and I know he will say his personal 86 GLHS is his favorite car. He has said it more than once. But I bet the Ford people get a different answer.
