I would appriciate any imput from some 69/70 shelby experts if you could look at the attached picture. I am wondering if the tape wraped around the body and holding the Antenna cable could be original? I am assuming that the antenna was attached by the dealer like any mustang??? It is just not the typical Ford tape and wondering if it could have been done by the dealer. Prior owner had it since 71 and took pretty good care of it. Any thoughts or imput would be appriciated. Thanks.....
Re: 69 shelby Antenna question Armond don't have pictures of others (for the overhead shots) but the wrap around the mast is typical from other originals I've seen and the plastic type of electrical tape is what was used in those examples also for that application. Sometimes the extra cable was looped and then tapped to the mast on some other cars. Some other examples I've seen had no tape or the tape had failed and was simply hanging from the mast Hope this helps
Re: 69 shelby Antenna question Thank you Jeff! I should have just emailed you. The second owner who owned it from 1971 until this last year said it was always there.
Re: 69 shelby Antenna question Just to give anyone that finds this thread in the future some additional info The original owner of a 69 Shelby (still owns it) sent me the following No tape ever used on any 69-70 Shelby from the factory (for this - my addition)....also the routing in the photo is also wrong. I missed mentioning the routing
Re: 69 shelby Antenna question So if that is not how the routing is supposed to be, how should it be??? Were not the Antenna's put on at the dealer??? Jeff I emailed you back. Armond
