I have art work already done by a sign artist who did the art from my flat gas cap. If anyone is interested, I can forward the artwork to you. I knew the owner of car #12. His name is Mike and the car is green, although I have not seen him for years. He started a website back on 94 or 95 about early 67's.

I am interested in replacing my gas cap also. There is one for a 500 on ebay right now that he claims is NOS. I would like one for a 350. If anyone could please let me know where you are in the process and let me know if I can help it along. Maybe if a few were purchased it would be less expensive.

    Thanks

    Bob

    Bob,
I am interested for sure. I have been trying to do the same thing. That was Mike Horn with #0012. I have pics of his car and flat gas cap I took at SAAC in Fontana. I have an original emblem on loan from Rod T. #0036 Have you spoke to Bob Gaines on this emblem? He was trying to have it replicated too. Maybe between the two of you, we can get something going. There are a number of us who would like to get the emblem. I would take three for sure, just to have a couple spares.

Back in late 1972, I went to a Ford dealer with a long shopping list for parts on my 67' GT 350. One was for a gas cap emblem. When it came in, with the other parts, I asked about why wasn't the gas cap emblem flat?
The parts guy looked for about an hour and concluded that they must have been superceded by the curved cap.
So, NOS or not, way back when you could not get a flat emblem.
