Before us Shelby fans get to thinking we got the top drawer in
car values read the story in some men's magazine now on the stands about a gathering of Ferrari 250GT0 members. There were less than 40 made, and all are accounted for and owned by well heeled dudes like Rob Walton. In the story it says they average $20 million each. The story tells of them driving them en masse from Mendocino to the wine country...makes me mad I didn't buy the one offered to me in 1969 for $19,000. I thought who would want a smokey old tatty Ferrari race car?

...then, you will love the show that aired on Speed TV last night ( and will be repeated over the next week or two)

I fell in love with a $3.5million 1953 Mille Miglia Barchetta last nite.

    It was red. :p

That's a good show. I've seen many of them but missed last night. They are repeated regularly though.

The best is the factory resto. shop. No my car had or this car came with... They have the paper work and specs on each car plus it is the factory trained guys at the factory doing the work.

Wonder how much money Shelby could make if he started a 'factory' restoration company...

$19,000 was Movie Star money back in 1969

Not to get off topic but duesenburgs of certain types would set ya back 20 to 25 large in the early thirties......one was even nicknamed "twenty-grand"

I think the 250 GTO's are beautiful cars... but I'd take any one of the six Daytona Coupes any day over the Ferrari.

Amen to that....besides, you could actually work on a daytona if need be.....one would have to be brave to get into one of those twin cam ferrari V12s.........dont even get me started on the up keep of a modern ferrari..let alone one that is forty years old and that expensive!

I would take 250 GTO S/N3987 dressed in Mecom colours over any Cobra out there. Though I doubt I am going to get Ralph Lauren to give it up any time soon.

I would probably take Ferrari Spyder California 2015 in Lemans trim over any Cobra as well, even though I am not really a fan of white cars with red interiors. The Cal Spyder is just rolling art to me.

After those show up in my garage I would then opt for the AC Cobra Coupe.

Failing any of those, I would be willing to settle for CSX2299 in 1964 LeMans trim.

Of course - if I owned any of those I would not be worried about the cost of maintenance.:D
