SPF, ERA, CAV, GTD, all prices are near or above $100k. SPF also offers a 1 yr chassis warranty, and if Roush powered, 2 years on the motor. Can't compare any replica vs the Ford GT. The Ford GT sort of resembles the original GT40's, the but the replica industry is just that, it's an attempt to replicate the original car. Holman's GT40 replica is beautiful, and you can see the one on Ebay this morning was over $1mil now. That's slightly out of my price range, by about $999k!! I don't think the car is "a year late" as was stated in a previous comment on this thread, what makes better business sense, rushing a car to market that's not right, or waiting til it's done correctly. I'll post photos as they become available. There is no doubt the GT40 is one of the most timeless and beautiful cars ever developed.
Just joining this group and found this discussion. I currently own a black with silver stripes GT. If your interested, I know where there are a couple at our local Ford dealers. One is the dark blue with white stripes and another is red with the white stripes. If you have any questions just let me know. It is an awesome car!
Bluegrass, Is yours an 05 or 06? Any pictures to post? Were you able to take it out for a test drive before you purchased it,and what was the process the dealer went through on selling to you? Tout
I have a brand new 2005 Ford GT for sale. It is white w/ blue stripes - all options except for the red brakes (leave that for the Vipers) - 150 miles - MSRP $ 155,845.00 Thanks Stephen Becker (770) 932 0257
Are the 06 cars better? And if so how? Or did you go for another color, I am seriously looking at an 06, black and silver car to match my cobra .Dealers around here will order a car for 10K over MSRP, I think it may get better in the near future. Tout
same car - same options, higher price ( $10k + more) - call around and see if you can buy a brand new (either year) Ford GT for MSRP..............
Re: Thanks KenG, Great web site Why would anybody ever regret buying a GT? If I had the money I would buy one even if it had crappy reliability and thumbtacks for seats.
No shortage of cops whenever the FGT pulls out of the garage. It's absolutely solid at speed and no vibrations.
Thanks, Mike. FoMoCo has built a car for the ages with the FGT and I'm extremely pleased with it. Kelvin
That's right! Never a shortage of cops when the GT is out. Is that what they mean by "profiling"? It is the front license plate thing (or lack of) that gets me every time. I would estimate that 1 in 10 cars do not have a front plate in CA but it is the GT that gets noticed everytime. Kelvin (AlohaGT) could honestly answer the mirror vibration question at 205mph. I tried to keep up with him and a few others during our GT Rally in Newport last year with little success. Good to see you here on the Shelby boards Kelvin.
Hey Isaak, now I thought it was a rear license plate thing. On top of everything else, I have the blue supercharger light that comes on at night which is illegal in Hawaii. I presume I'll see you for Rally III in Vegas. How about joining us on the Le Mans trip in July? I think we'll have great fun with our FGTs over there for a couple weeks. Been MIA here for a little while and took me some time catching up on the Shelby/SAAC thread.
Kelvin, did you get to keep that plate in HI as well? I was hoping to do the LeMans trip but some ongoing health issues may keep me from doing it this time around but I will be in Vegas for Rally III for sure.
