GT-H Vert......30 Miles

Just purchased an 07 Vert # 193 w/4015 miles.......55K...so I dont think the prices will hold . I saw 3 others with less than 3k on it..very close to that $., but sold before i got there. There are 30 vert's being sold at the Kruse auction in Charlotte on Jan 19th & 20th. I think that will give a stong indication of where these cars are going presently.

Hi Vern, I'm baaaaaaaaaack. And Gino, congrats!

Not to rehash, but I rented an '07 convert in July and set out to buy one, but it's been a long & winding road ... and I'm about 50/50 now on a Bullitt or trying to get the GT-H that set me on this quest for the gold (& black) holy (sort of) grail.

The 30K Bullitt is a steal-and-a-half price-wise, but if, and only if, I could find a GT-H at a good price ... well, whatever a good price is.

I haven't logged in a for a bit, but was curious what's happening with the '07 GT-H's because the are conspiculously absent on E-bay. What's this about Kruse auctioning them? I thought only the one auction house (and I'm drawing a blank now, out East ...) was selling them?

The whole deal, including them going on auction at these super low miles continues to be a curiosity to me.

They just had that auction last week. I believe there were three GT-Hs (must be the last of the lot coming in) and a few dozen GT-H convertibles. All had reserves of $50k and only a few were sold above that level. That seems to be consistent with the few that pass on eBay. My guess is that many of the convertibles will not be released for auction / sale until the springtime.

You can regularly find a few coupes for sale and most are between $32k and $36k (mileage usually around 12k to 20k). Depends on what you think a "good deal" is.

A friend purchased the remaining 12 vert's from Kruse auction after the no sale on all of them but 3. I believe the bids were going around 42K and they elected to hold them. 3 Cars were delivered yeasterday(sun) and the rest coming up on thurs. I know that he's looking around 57K each. On another note....something very interesting......after getting my 07 vert H....i was made aware that CS made 4 2006 Shelby H in STICK (of which he kept no.1) and all of their CS numbers are consecutive...0001,0002,0003 and 0004. I have a chance to purchase one of these cars...what do you guys think is a fair $ number? Also, 17 2007 Vert's were made in STICK...I also have a shot of picking one up... any suggestions? As far as I know, there are a few differences from the stick and the auto's.

Any suggestions / opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I would say about $75K would be a good price.

I dont know about the wheels,,,,but something to find out about. The price of 75K was what i was thinking... right on the money Dave. Now, to see if they will accept. I have a feeling they want more like 100K ea. will let you know how it turns out.

Remember that the very first (and lowest mileage and highest quality) 2006 coupes sold on the market for $70k to $90k or so. The "average" cars went for upper $30s to low $60s when the market was ripe for them. What is remaining, either from auction, dealer, or second owners, seems to be mid $30s to mid $40s.

One of five hundred is already pretty rare. One of four of hundred is off the charts. I think that ratio of auto to stick is lower than the original '66 Hertz models

I think the sticks went to Shelby and executives, so presumably they are in nicer than rental condition, which may justify a premium. $100,000 seems to be a little stretch for a super-rare stick shift coupe, but I guess if you want it bad enough and can find a real one . . . .

By the way, and I could be wrong, but the first 2006 GT-H offered for auction was sold for $250,000. I don't know if it was car #001, but it was the first sold to a private party. The same applied in 2007 (that one went to Ron Pratte).

manual gt'h's?

The Shelby mystery continues ... a handful of manual transmission GT-H's? With all the research I've done, I hadn't heard of that.

I listend to the very first auction of the 07's simulcast with a Ford dealer and the 14 or so they had there were pulled when the bidding didn't go over 40K, although I also heard they had tech trouble with the simulcast so stopped the auction. I know it wasn't Kruse Auctions, it was the other big auction house out east I'm totally drawing a blank on, but it'll come to me. They sold the 06's but maybe decided that place wasn't bringing enough.

I'm not even sure who "owns" the cars. I thought there was a buy-back from Hertz by Ford, so it was actually Ford selling them, and Shelby had nothing more to do with them once they converted them.

I don't think that #1 GT-H that went for 250K was anything more than proof of what the TV auctions have done to car & bike prices. It doesn't look like the "regular" auctions of these GT-H's are going very well, and while it's America, it sounds like your friend that bought them all is doing his share to cash in. One more example of creating a false market; but judging from the 06 prices (once the fervor backed off) it doesn't look like it quite panned out the way they hoped.

Will be interesting to see what they go for. I'm sure you can't, but I'd sure like to know what the 12 were purchased for at auction.

Shelby definitely doesn't own the former rental cars or have anything to do with their sales. It is my understanding that Hertz is the owner and is selling via auction to the dealers (middle man to the eventual owners).

There was a rumor that the cars were purchased at bulk rates for the low $30s (I assume that is with the SAI mods included). A bit of a discount from the standard invoice cost for a GT Premium plus the SAI upgrades. If you figure they got to rent the cars for a year at a premium rate, all the free advertising, and then selling the cars for probably at or near what they paid, it isn't too bad of a deal for Hertz. And hey, more power to 'em for the great idea.
