Hi, I know the 65-66's used a few different styles of seat belts. Take a look at the picture below. My question is did any of the styles used taper down at the latch/leather area the way these do, or were all the styles the same 3 inch width all the way across at the buckle. I realize the ones in the picture are not original. Thanks for your help, John Thomas
While I hate to say "never" concerning early Shelbys, I will say I have never seen an original 65-66 belt that narrowed down at the latch like your picture.
I just checked a spare set of belts that I have. 1. They are not necked down that narrow at the hardware. The inside opening that the webbing goes thru is 3" long. 2. The leathers are approximately 3 5/8" wide. And dyed black. 3. The stiching pattern is not correct for a set of '65/'66 belts. 4. The stiching should be black thread. shlby66
