Gents and Ladies, This weekend, I will travel to pick up a new 13 mile Shelby GT500 Convertible in Vista Blue, Charcoal interior, GT Premium interior package, HID lamps, Shaker 500 stereo, SIRIUS SAT radio, DVD Navigation system, GT500 side stripes, Ambient lighting; and car cover; all the options that could be ordered! The dealership offered to delliver, but I wanted to transport my self to ensure the integreity of the car. I paid 6K over MSRP; one of the best deals I've seen yet. You can deal with the dealers; just play hard ball and put some money down! Some of these dealers are asking for 15K over the MSRP. The economy is in the favor of the buyer now; so this is the best time to purchase. When I get her home, I'll post some driveway pics.
Looks Great!!! Congratulations on your purchase. Be sure to tell us about your "first drive." Randall
Here in Pennsylvania one of the dealers is asking 30k over for the '08 GT500 and they still have a leftover ShelbyGT for 10k over!!!! Have fun with it Judge!!!
Very nice Car. A dealer in LA contacted me and said ALL Shelby's at MSRP. He posted on here a couple of times, ( autocloze1@yahoo.com ). David.
Paying 6K over sticker is a contradiction to saying the economy is in favor of the buyer. Congrats on your car though.
A dealer here in kc still wants 7 over for an 07 sgt even though they arent even moving any of the three 07s in stock for the past couple of months! They also want 25 over for a 500 hardtop or 30 over for a conv......also, they want 30 over for a hardtop that is signed on the visor by carroll shelby. But then again.....this should be expected as everytime i go in there they try to persuade me into a "GT350" or they say that they have a 540hp "supersnake" coming in soon for which they want upwards of 125 large for! Best Regards, Vern
Charlie, Regarding "this is a buyers market;" my point in the price gouging today from dealerships is; if you analyze the current market, this is a "buyer's market" right now; for "everything for the most part, with the exception of a limited production run Muscle Car like the Shelby;" typical domestic cars, homes, boats, you name it can be bought for a lot less. Sure, I paid 6K over MSRP; I searched the entire country for a week for a deal like I obtained. No one would sell a Vista Blue CV for what I paid for even in this current market situation. I toyed with the idea of waiting to get a better deal; and this may hold true as time passes by, but I didn't want to gamble and wait for a last minute rush which might have impacted the color and options I wanted. Just my two cents. Besides, unlike other cars that lose value the day they are driven off the floor; I don't think this will hold true for a Shelby that is kept in show room condition and with limited miles. Judge
