Re: 1966 Hertz car More information on the Hertz car. For Sale: 1966 Shelby Black & Gold Hertz Project « on: Today at 09:04:56 PM » Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay I've decide to sell my 1966 Shelby Black & Gold Hertz Car #0841. Original documented 43,000 miles. It is a complete project disassembled, rust free with its' original paint. Paint is not nice enough to be presentable. It took a small hit in the left front fender earlier in its life with the original owner and that fender has been replaced and lacks its' original paint there. Original motor & C4 Trans. I am the 2nd owner and I have had this car for over 15 years. I have the original title and the Hertz maintenance card with the pouch. Howard Pardee of SAAC stated that I have the only known Hertz Car with this maintenance card. Original Calif black plates. The original interior has 2 flaws: A small 2" tear in the drivers seat cushion and a cracked dash. I have an original (Not a repo) replacement dash pad. Many new and spare parts, correct carb, correct Micro mastercylinder, correct tach, correct Magnums (need replating), spare set of original rear quarter windows and panels. Tons of new replacement parts as well. The original owner did some drag racing with the car and the battery was relocated to the trunk. I have since repaired that area back to its' original appearance. Easy resto and can be done for under 20K. This car is very original with all of its original rust free sheet metal (except LF Fender) and I could go on & on about the car, but if you are seriously interested, you can call me on my cell at 626-221-6062. Pics upon request. Looking for 120K
I know of a 66 Hertz for sale in Oregon. I only saw pictures but the car looked completely rust free and in very restorable condition. It was black and gold and I think the guy said it even ran and drove. The owner is not actively trying to sell it but I had heard it could be bought in the $125 range. Seems not that horrible of a price for a running rust free car. He's rumored to have a second K motor brand new in a crate too. All of this is really heresay and the car may have sold by now but if you're still in the market I would try to contact him and see. I'll try to post the picture if I can find it. His number is 541-660-0204. Good luck.
