I know this is one to stay away from especially at that price. Yes it is a correct 3259 holley center section with a very good date. The primary metering block is wrong unless the seller thinks that hipo GT 350's used a special (area 51) duel point distributor with vacuum advance. The base looks right but the accelerator linkage side of the butterfly shafts are beat up and damaged . Unlike what the description states they are the wrong bowls. The bowls are the common side hung bowls. The side hung bowls lean out in the corners that is why the center hung Le Mans bowls came into being. It seems to be a case of a little bit of knowledge being dangerous. Buyer beware.

    Bob,

Do you know what the correct part number is for this carburetor? Thanks.

    Hi guys,
To me it looks like a correct carb with the exception of the bowls.
    List-3259
    date 524
Primary Metering Block 3903. The vacuum connection hole on the
passenger side should, however, be blocked with a screwed in plug.
    Much too expensive though.

Roy, Texas Swede beat me to the punch and I agree with him. As I write I checked and the ebay seller ended the auction. He must have seen this thread. 3259 is the correct list number and on the 65 Shelby's that is all it would have besides the 3 digit date code. Starting in 1966 Holley started marking this particular carb with a Shelby /Ford engineering number S2MS 9510-A and under that the list of 3259-1 with the 3 digit date code under that. The later reissue carbs have a 4 digit date code which makes them easy to spot if you are able to look at the air horn . Recent reissue carbs have different bowl screws and assorted upgraded linkage components and different metering blocks.

I sent the seller a message, specifacally about the float bowls weren't the LeMans type. He replied that he had made a mistake and was pulling the auction. Happy ending for once.

That would explain why I've never seen one in all the years I've been looking. Thanks.

Your 581 (first week of Aug. 65) dated carb is correct for
    a 66 Shelby. My friend's original for 6S923 is dated 581. It's too late
    for a 65.
