Does any one have the correct width measurments for the 1967 shelby GT 350 stripes for the nose, hood, roof and deck lid. and also the correct black color for the shelby thanks Nick
Nick, Most, if not all, 1967 cars received their stripes from the dealer. Having said that, the "correct" dimensions probably would be a carry over from the '65/'66 dimensions. Tony Branda's website has all the paint codes and technical info like stripe widths and spacing (www.cobranda.com). Here's a link to the stripe dimensions he provides: http://site.cobranda.com/tech/lemans.pdf Here's a link to paint codes: http://site.cobranda.com/tech/product.pdf Hope that helps. If I'm incorrect about the stripe dimensions, there are plenty of knowledgeable people here who will most likely correct me. Josh
Since these were not done at the factory and only a hand few were done for the first buyers there are no "correct" measurments. In most shows points are deducted for 67 cars with stripes And since Shelby did not suggest the stripes no instructions or guidelines were provided by Shelby (as was done in earlier) this left the dealerships on their own if a customer had to have the stripes. Because of this they were left to adapt the 65-66 dimensions or apply straight stripes with (possibly) a consistent 2" space between them Good luck
Saying "most, if not all" is in no way a correct statement. In reallity, I never started seeing them on 67's untill the 1980's or so. Maybe the next owner of #0036 will put them on, I never will.
Of course that is a fine point, and a necessary one. What we know for certain is that except for the Super Snake, no 67's left the Shelby facility with stripes. Mike
A painter that worked at the Ford dealer Sud Automobile in Longueil Quebec (the only shelby dealer in Quebec) told me, they made a template with the dimension of the holes in the hood scoop with 2¨ between. Probably each dealers had ther owned method??? That's what I did on mine and I like the proportion Hope this help. Frank
