    HI GUYS!!

I'm brand new to this site and was wondering if someone could help me with a few 68 GT500 questions. My car 00283 is getting some work done on it right now and I need to know what the original engine color is. I also need to know if the transmission pan was painted. The last question is what is the original card for the early 68 GT500? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Welcome, hopefully if we help you you will in turn be able to help others of like interest so here goes. The engine block color is Ford Dark Blue . Sometimes refered to as Ford Dark Corporate blue. The C6 GT500 and C4 GT350 Transmission pan are bare steel. I am sorry I don't have a picture of a 68 warrenty card to post but go to the white link tab at the top of the page and scroll down to Petes 68 Shelby website. There is a wealth of info there and maybe he has a warrenty card pictured. The website will help in answering many questions. I hope this helps. Bob

    Bob,
I am a real car guy and I will do anything I can to help someone if I can. I can't thank you enough for your help. My problem is I don't have many Shelby's so I don't know much about them.

Judging from your car # (build date would be better) you should have a C8ZX A Holley. There were some cars that slipped through with the C8AF AE Autolite 4100 (the PI carb) but they seem to be mostly January build cars.

    TLEA,

Thank you for your help. The build date on this car was Dec. 4, 1967
