Hey, I am a Mustang fan, Shelby fan, an proud to be an American, but for that price, I'll take a Porshe Turbo or even a Amg Merc. That's me though...

I would like to know what Insurance Company the Buyers use to Insure them. All the ones I know of will only insure a new Car for MSRP (or less). The car is to NEW for Collectors Insurance. I guess they will have to buy the GAP Insurance as well, unless they pay cash for the difference.

What Insurance Company do those of you who paid $10K or $20k over MSRP have? Does it cover what you paid or just the MSRP price? did you get GAP?
    David.

I have Erie. It covers the "book value". Originally I took the dealers loan with the gap. But I paid that off immediately with a home equity loan that cut the monthly payments in thirds.
I know accidents happen I'm just runnung on a prayer that they won't happen to me. I don't drive it much, but then again I don't drive my T-bird much either, I put all my mileage on my '97 Ranger with the 4 cyl.

Just like the others these prices will drop too if you don't have to be the firsty to have one. I know of one that already "presold" (not any special BJ or first ones off the line either) for 130K. My 07 vert was basically MSRP after waiting for the soft market. I'm not sure these will go that low because of the more limited #'s but they will go down substantially.

As much as a dealer can get, plus $15k!

Funny, I tried to find MSRP on the SA site..not even mentioned! I found it listed on Popular Mechanics at $79,995. Autoweek has the same.

The website for the KnightRider TV show showed the value of the prize (Shelby GT500 KR) as $79000.00

This is what I was talking about. A new KR, wait till all these people start reading about the 68 KR's, the history etc..It's gonna help all these original cars long term.

When you really want something, price sometimes doesn't matter.

135 and 142 so far......shocking to say the very least.
Not smart spending in my opinion.
People will wait to end of production and get the cars for far less.
Or....get a 750 hp supersnake for far less.
    Best Regards,
    Vern

$142K and it hasn't hit the reserve yet either...WTF over?
I'm a die-hard Mustang fan, but, the 2008 Challenger looks pretty bad ass!!! You can pick one of those up for about $50:confused:

The challenger is a good looking car but the interior is cheeper looking than the mustang's in my opinion.
ALso, it has an auto tranny......barf.

    Not so fast, Grasshopper!
The Challenger auction still has 5 days to go....
Something tells me the actual lot prices will be significantly higher than MSRP...until the frenzy fades (or the Camaro comes out).
I agree on one thing..DCX got it right with this one. Just the right mix of retro and new. Beautiful car.
DO they make a manual trans available? All I have seen is juice boxes advertised.

I heard that it was just automatic........
THe question is.......what is the point of selling a muscle car with 425 horse and great styling when it only comes in automatic?....doesnt sound like much fun to me.
    Best Regards,
    Vern

    FlyingBoss302,

I haven't heard that one in a while. Any chance you have an aviation connection?
