67 GT350 #62 looking for info

    I have what I believe to be an original GT350 (#0062). It has been in my family since 1988 and I would like to have it restored. I am looking for any information about this particular car and any help would be welcomed.

    Dark Blue, black interior.inboard kights, Jackie Smith, Baileyton Al. owned in 87 ? Sold new at Broadway Motors, Kansa City Mo. Modified with a 302 and 2x4 intake.....per Shelby Regristry

    I have a few questions, but, since the car is 35+ years old now, some things might have been changed.
    Do you have the flat gas cap? I mean flat - no curve to it at all?
    Anything else you might want to share. The early models are special. Let me point out some things.
    1)The grill would have the inboard headlights, and, is lightly angled, might even be one peice top/bottom combined.
    2) lights in the upper scoop? Are they brake lights or running lights (on when the lights are on?)
    3) Roll bar is braced to the rear wheel house?
    4) lower scoops ducted to the wheel house?
    5) do you have the interior code in the Vin#?
    6) have the chrome trim around the tail pipe cutouts in the rear valence.

    Roddster I'll have to check on some of your questions. It's been awhile since I've been over the car. It does have lights in the scoop, but not sure if running or brake lights. I'm not sure if the gas cap is flat, it is an attached 'flip down' type.

    I am in the process of buying the car from my mother due to my fathers death, and wanted to make sure that the car was an original Shelby. We knew about the motor change and it also has a Hurst shifter but other than those two changes the car is in really good condition for not being driven for the last 5-6 years. Any idea as to setting a price on a gt 350 with these changes?

    I'll try to find the answers to the other questions.

    Hi Mike,
    Sorry to hear about your father.I live in Ontario,not to far from Lansing.I cannot help you with your Shelby and wish you well with it but if you decide to sell and not to pursue restoring the car,I would be interested in finding out more info on the car.I am currently looking for a '67 GT 350 to restore.Good luck with the Shelby.....Greg.

    The non-original engine lessens it a little, but, that also releases you of having to light pedal the thing. Now you car hammer the bejesus out of it.
    So, we'll all need more info or pictures but (don't tell your mom) a drivable 67 Shelby is worth at lease $50,000.

    I figured that it would be somewhere near $ 35-50,000.00. But it really makes no difference to me, I just want my dads car. We have already set a price and she knows she didnt take me to the cleaners like she could have. Gotta love those caring mothers!

    I will provide more info and/or pics. after I get the car. I'll be asking many more questions about restoring Shelbys as I am not a "gear head". Thanks for all your help.
