Anyone know what a correct paint match would be for a 67 power steering pump? It looks like it has a blue/green tint...possible Teal ? ..I know a real good match for the 70 Boss 302 pump is the PPG #DAR-12366 Cheasapeake Blue metallic. Is that the same for 67's? Dave
Re: 67 power Steering Pump paint Good question! For my 68 I went through all my books with color photos. When I found the best photo, I took the book to a hardware store that carried lots of automotive spray bomlbs. I think Im close to the color. In the 80s Mustang Monthly had an article with the correct code, I saved it but cant seem to find it. Ive seen many cars incorrectly sprayed black.
Re: 67 power Steering Pump paint Dave, that 's the same paint I used for my pump on my shelby. I think it looks very good. Randy
Re: 67 power Steering Pump paint Thanks for the replies fellas....thought I'd get many more responses. I'm beginning to think its something alot of us do not know or can answer based on the 40+ people who have read this thread..
Re: 67 power Steering Pump paint Not incorrect. Both colors were used . There were 2 different vendors that supplied the same pumps to the assemblyline . One has a "F" for Ford stamped on the build tag on the back of the pump and it is painted the bluish color. The one marked with a "T" for TRW is painted black . This is the case with all the 67 to 70 mustangs. It could be ether way. If you could see the tag on the back ,which is almost impossible once mounted only then would you be able to tell with any certainty if it was painted right or wrong.Bob
