Past Results from Mid America Fort Meet

Hello,

I am in the process of tracking down documentation and previous owners of my 68' KR. One guy said he may have some trophies from Mid America that the car won. It won "Best KR" of the show and "Best 1968 Shelby." He paid a kid $4400 in 1982 for the car, he and his brother brought it back to NOS down to the plug wires. They sold it for $33k in 87, that guy sold it for $65k in 1998.

The car is Shelby #3784. I was wondering if anyone on the forum may have past results or better yet, pictures from the Mid America Show (1980-1988)?

The owner of the car during this time was Jerry Cookson. He and his bother Rod are listed as owners of the car during this time.

The show organizers said they may but it's not online and in storage etc. They will check for me but my guess is that my take some time.

The older gentlemen (Rod) whom I talked to is 70 years old and started crying when he talked about the car, he said it was his life for 7-8 years. I sent him pictures then he really started balling. I kind want to go give him a ride in it and let him drive it.
