1966 GT350 fuel line bracket clip

    Hey guys, I need the experts. I am finishing up a 66 gt350h and am wondering about the fuel line clip that bolts to the water pump.I know the bracket its self should be blue as if it were painted with the motor,but what about the clip that snaps over the line? I painted it blue with bracket because you cant get it out of bracket without bending tab on backside. I have seen some photos that appear that the clip was natural.
    Also should the dip stick be blue?
    Educate me!!

    The fuel line clip has a gun blueing type finish and was not painted with the engine . I have vintage magizine photos that show the dipstick painted and also left bare metal. I hope this helps. Bob
