Well it would be hard without a template. I assume you've changed the apron, you don't have your old one?

 

If you had original battery aprons the factory sheet metal has dimples were you would put holes for the studs mounted to the vac cannister . You must have a early non tilt car built before jan 68 or the battery apron has been replaced since all 68 Shelby's built after jan 68 had tilt (mandatory option). Basically the canister iscentered under the tray and the line would come out in the middle of the square opening area made up by the top tray, the two side support arms on ether side and the rib that connects the two side supports across the bottom . right in the center of that is were the line comes out. After you make the holes for the studs you use a hole saw to make the large hole in the center for the vacuam nipple. I believe a illustration is in the assembly line manuals that you should buy if you havn't yet .The best of luck with your project. Bob

 

Bob makes a good point that I didn't think of. Is yours an early car that didn't have tilt? The commonly accepted date is cars built after 12/7/67 but I've got a block of cars (mostly 350 verts) built 12/2 that some had it some didn't. Good tip on the dimples Bob.
