Last nite I inquired as to the proper placement of the vacuum tank for a tiltaway steering column and greatly appreciate the help I recieved. Now however I have to new questions that I hope someone can help me with. The first involves the proper color for the third member. We are presently returning the grearing to the original 3.50 and would like to repaint it while we have the chance. We are also curious as to the proper fan for a 1968 GT500. We presently have a 7 bladed fan with a clutch, but I' not sure this is the proper one.

All give you the "canned" version of the 3rd member as there are a lot of details. Housing is semi gloss black along with the brake backing plate however bolts have a dark phoshate/heat treated finish. Studs that hold pumpkin in are dark heat treated , nuts are silver cad with copper washers and the pumpkin itself is red oxide/slight gloss with natural machined areas. Same for pinion support. Pinion bumper bracket is natural steel, yoke is natural cast with seal guard natural steel. Then if you get beyond that there are half a dozen or so paint daubs/ID marks.
Correct fan clutch is C8ZX A and blade is C8OE B
