I'm wanting to get the Paxton SC for my '07 Shelby GT. The three official mod shops are all about 6 million miles away from me. There is however an authorized Shelby dealer nearby who builds continuation Cobras, CS6s and CS8s. He can get the parts from SAI and do the installation. He has checked with Ford and the SC will not void the powertrain warranty. He will provide a receipt for the work indicating it was performed by an authorized Shelby dealer. If I went to sell the car at some later date does anybody believe that having the install performed at a dealer instead of a mod shop would drive the price down or am I splitting hairs here? I just don't want to have to ship the car from Florida to Texas or NV.

Prices quite frankly for shelby gts arent strong right now. If you cant make it to a mod shop, and you want to still have a conversion done, i dont see a problem in having it done by the dealer. Just make sure to have the conversion documented. Also, just make sure that the dealer knows what they are doing, it sounds like they do, but just make certain.
As for the price...a car done by shelbyautos sold on ebay with 150 miles on it for 36-37 grand last week...it had a paxton, alcoa wheels, all kinds of exhaust mods, and a guage pod. Dont do the conversion for the value, do it to have fun!

Make sure to update us on what you decide and if the conversion is done...make sure to post some pix for us to drool over.

    Best Regards,
    Vern
