  1. Yes, I am aware of the legal implications and all of that. I have no
intention of ever selling my car and my only interest is personal satisfaction of
returning my car to as correct as I can get it. everybody concerns themselves
with restoring their car to 'all original'. that is something that that can
never be done, instead we return our cars to an appearance of original delivered
condition. while I know the letter of the law, I feel that is what I am
actually doing as there is no fraud intended or perpetrated. The ID tag riveted
to the car is not the original either as that was missing as well, however
with proof of the registration that was 'reproduced'.
I was not intending to purposly stir a can of worms or offend anyone,
however I just thought I would voice a personal opinion I have as to something that
would be a benifit to someone in my position verses the people who would
intend to defraud the rest of us.

I think you do what you do for the car. As long as it is explained in the case of a sale. We will never get our cars to show room examples unless they are low low mileage cars. Really who cares. They are what they are and all owners have their special interpretations of what is best for their cars. As long as you own a genuine Shelby it will be up to a buyer, enthustiast or officianado what he thinks is or is not exceptable for his personal requirements or opinions. Shit happens to these things on or off the road...Theft, collision or otherwise. I love it when someone says it has never been in an accident or hit or stolen or something. Every car that has been registered on the road has a claims history of some sort.
