Brake lights don't come on at all, turn signals don't blink. Emergency flashers work (sort of), tail lights come on fine (w/headlight switch) I don't know if they worked before I bought the car, didn't run. Question: Is there any checking this stuff, or should I just buy a new sequencer & flasher? If so, from who? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks, Mike
Personally, I would just get a new flasher and electronic box. Start with the basics. Getting power to the back with signals on? Front lights work? Turn signal switch good? Grounds good? Got power at the brake light switch at the pedal?
If the brake lights dont work the first thing I'd check are the fuses, then check the brake light switch located on the brake pedal. Its basiclly a breaker plate with two wires- power in power out. If you get a new flasher get a heavy duty one.
Hi to Mike aka shotgun. You need to check out the coralsnake website. It should point you in the proper direction to diagnose and get the parts you need.I strongly suggest you disconnect the battery until you resolve all electrical faults.Several circuits like stoplamps and horn are hot at all times,a short to ground in the steering column can cause melted wiring/fire!! do not risk it!!GOOD LUCK and keep us posted..Be safe not sorry.
Thanks to all that posted. I replaced the sequencer, flashers, checked the brake switch, turn signal switch, fuses, etc, etc. No brake lights. Turns out that part of the Shelby wiring mods ends up running the power feed for the brake lights through the console-actually feeds off the ammeter lead, I suppose because of a higher current draw w/6 lamps? Uses heavier gauge wire that the stock wire to the brake lights. Console is out of my car. Actually found the original wire to the brake light circuit cut off & taped. Plugged in the console wiring & like magic, the brake lights work!! Who would have thought? Not me!! Thought I would share this info for possible future use by someone. Mike
