I ordered a GT500 almost 2 months ago, and it's been on production hold waiting for parts for most of that time. The dealer can't tell me what part(s) are being waited on. Has anybody heard anything like this, had this happen to them, or have any idea how to tell IF it's ever going to come off of parts hold? I'm worried about it getting to May 1st when they stop production of 2008 models and start the 2009 production. Thanks all!
I'm waiting for mine as well, I was told it would be around the end of April. (8 week build process) Once I find out my production ETA I'll shoot another post..
I didn't order mine but found a dealer who had put in an order for a black 2008 GT500 about two months ago. Had him change the color to white to match my 65 GT350 and I picked it up last Friday. He had a little trouble changing the color but heard nothing about parts shortages. Usually shipping takes longer but the dealer told me that some strike at GM has freed up a lot of transports thus my car came a week earlier than expected. Rick
I ordered mine 1 month ago. This week it goes into production, and I got the VIN # from the dealer. ETA is around 4 weeks from now. I haven't heard of any delays in production on these cars, however from what I understand they will not be producing GT500's in 2009. Joe
