    Hi everyone

How many of you have a signature on your vehicle and or autographed documents? Just curious. I have one on my dash next to the clock on my GT 500 and a photo of him signing it. If you have these signatures it would be interesting to run a survey of what you have and what you think your value is.

    Cheers

Well, lessee...A signed copy of "The Cobra Story", a signed copy of the '66 GT350 dealer poster, a signed original '65 GT350 owners supplement, a signed print by Bill Neale of CS in the winning Aston-Martin.
    Regards, Stan

I have one on my glovebox door that I got at the 1997 Monterey Historics
when it was a tribute to Shelby. I also have one on a lamenated color
magazine article that my car was in 1991. There is this cool car
collector club in Burlingame called the Candy Store that Shelby came and
talked at back in 1992 so I got one then as well. I also have pictures
of him holding my son when he was about 1 1/2 years old at a track event
    at Laguna Seca.

In 1993 at SAAC-18, I met Carroll for the first time, doing my first real Shelby event (everything before that was just a car show). Since I didn't own a Shelby at the time, I decided to make my own collectable. Visiting my parent's home, I found a 1966 Playboy magazine in the attic (thanks Dad). It was in a stack of mags and had been pressed pretty tightly. Flipping through the book, I found an absolutely perfect black and white Shelby American ad featuring a 35-40 year old Carroll Shelby in a suit, leaning against a 1966 427 Cobra, with a white '66 GT350 in the background. I brought the magazine to the $20-donation signing, where he signed in one of the blank white areas. I had the full page ad plaqued (like a degree or diploma), which is now preserved forever.

In 1996, he appeared on the cover of "The Robb Report", and I brought that magazine to SAAC-21. Again, he signed, I had it plaqued. Now the 2 signed plaques adorn my Mustang room, representing 30-years of Carroll Shelby. Looks like it's time to do another one ...

And yes, he signed the glove box of my '67 GT350, as well as a host of other books, posters, cards, and visors, aluminum dash parts, as well as air cleaners. I should be so lucky as to own a car for every car part I have his signature on.

As for value, who knows? You'll only really find out if you try to sell the part, etc. I think it's personal and wouldn't trade the few personal momentos I have of CS. But then again, I never wantto sell anything.
