I saw in a previous post that the 69-70 GT500's shock tower mounts were all black, not natural. I'm confused. Is this a non-variable, 100%, take it to the bank? Do only the Shelby's have the washer welded on top and painted black or is it all 428CJ's?

IF the supports had the washers attached then yes IMHO and many others they should be semi-gloss black. There are examples (starting in 66) of some cars without the washers but its always hard to tell if these are original or have been changed over the last 40 years.

In any case the cars were designed to have the washers installed and owners paid for this modification. And finally most judging organizations will be looking for the washers. As always its the owners car and choice ;)
