Ok..here we go..got another question...looking for an original radiator for our car..what will be the markings / date code on a correct four speed radiator for our car..car 1902 delivered in May... Jimmy
There will be inverted stampings specific to San Jose cars on the top tank on the passenger side that look something like this: W-MO 2 66 W-MO is the manufacturer (Modine) and the 2 66 is the self explanatory date code. You can't rely too much on the SA delivery date for date codes, the Ford VIN is a better indicator. Your car's Shelby VIN is close to mine (1757) so I'm guessing the Ford VIN is also pretty close. A date code of Feb. or March 66 should work well, Jan. 66 may work too.
Ohh,.thanks again so much....found one with a 65 date code..almost got the wrong one...thanks so much...the search is still on...thanks!!!
jbarela, I'm currently having 6S087 restored. Being a carryover car, this will require a '65 date code radiator. Can you give me any information on that 65 radiator you mention. I might be interested in buying it if it's for sale and falls into the right date range. Thanks, Steve
2-65 dated radiators were on the Shelbys from vin #114 and up to maybe 200. Have personally seen them up to #178. The ones I have seen were all marked: C4ZE, W-MO, G2, 2-65. Texas Swede
jbarela, Thanks for the speedy reply. You're right. That 2-65 date code is a little too early for my car. I would need 6-65 or 7-65 to be correct. If anyone here has a lead on a radiator of that vintage please let me know. Good luck finding the one you need. Thanks, Steve
Steve, It might help to post a wanted request for the dates you need on the HiPo Ekschange forum and VMF. Dave
