I don't know what it is about this car but I'm totally obsessed. Is it because the horsepower, the stunning good looks (understatement), or the Mustang/Shelby heritage? It's going to be hard waiting another year to get keys. Anyone want to buy my 1968 Firebird 400 Convertible?

Interested in trading for an 89 CSX?

I am also planning to purchase the 2007 GT500.

Yes I am planning on getting one but will refuse to pay over MSRP so I may have to take my chances till after all the people that have to be first get theirs and find a dealer that won't ask the premium for them. Worst case I can buy a used one after a couple years after they depreciate a bit.

Yes I am. I was also told that what we saw at the NY Show might not be what we get. Some changes to the hood. Also check out the SAAC News paper on Carroll's comments on the G.T. 500.

IMO the prototype that looked like the 68 -500 was really a better looking car then the 67 style that they entend to come out with in 2007. I have pictures of the first edition & would be the first in line if they stuck with the 68 version.----S.

Absolutely! This is the car I've been waiting for: Power, Prestige, & Pedigree. My name is on the list to order at my local SVT/Ford dealer. Selling my truck & fifth-wheel RV to get $. Anyone interested in a 1994 F-350 crew cab turbo-diesel & 1997 36' trailer w/ three slidouts? Rusty

Have you guys been on the Ford SVT web site yet? If not, check it out and let the intro play with the volume on your computer up. The intro takes a few seconds to load so be patient.

From my understanding with the dealership I'm dealing with here in Detroit,
these cars will be holding there value for some time and should anything
happen to Mr. shelby durning that time they will only increase in value as
being the last ones made. I'm on a list along with 10 others and the deal is
full sticker price, NOT more than.

I'm on three dealer lists, probably end up buying two and turning one for sale on evil bay.

Guaranteed to pay between A-plan and MSRP with the dealers....

I'm already started collecting the magazines, press kits and other tidbits to add to the static display when I roll the machine into the garage to moth ball it.

I put down $1,000.00 deposit. I checked out putting my name on another
dealer's list, but there was guarantee on the price, so I didn't.

    McQueen,

You actually had a SVT dealer ask for a deposit when there is no information and ordering codes even out yet?

Put a deposit on one and was told by the dealer that it would be sticker an not much more, will see. It will be pretty bad form if they start trying to inflate prices, will probably loose me if they do.

Putting a deposit down means you have a firm contract, no guessing on cost or markups. If this is not what you have , I would question the dealers integrity. To be asked to place 1000.00 down on a car that they can't even take an order on ,or you the buyer not even know what the final cost or look of such car will be seems ------- to me .

The "deposits" are really just securing a place on the ordering list. They arn't really a deposit on the vehicle. Its a refunable marker that says you have the first option to order and is in no way insuring price options ect. I my self think it's a bit foolish but what can I say, I like the car. Having said that I will be incensed if the dealer starts to play games with the price in the end. I will most likely walk away from them an buy a good used one a few years later. TL

Yes I put a 1,000.00 down based on the estimated sticker at 40,000.00 and
if I don't like the car or color, because you get what the dealer gets, I can
opt out with a full refund. So for me it's a win/win situtation.
