I have a chance to purchase a 2007 G.T. 500 that has fliped on it`s top and is very repairable vehicle has a clear title but is it worth buying one that has been damaged ?It may be the only way I can afford one total cost will be right at twentyseven thousand total .
Is that Price Fixed or just for the Car? If it is just for the Car, take a bucnh of Photos of the Car and check with a Body Shop to see what it will take to fix. There is a Guy on www.teamshelby.com that is selling his 2008 Shelby with super low miles for just $45,000.00. David.
Are you sure it is a gt500 that you are looking at or just a shelby gt? I have seen a few flipped sgts go on ebay and they could not even be fixed for a total of anything near 27. Best Regards, Vern
It is a true GT 500 I have seen the window sticker and it comes with the car along with owners manual and all of the paperwork
If you don't then be sure and send me an email with the information so I can get that car!!!! Seriously.....at $27K fully repaired I'd do it in a second.
Question: With the force it takes to flip a car, even if it could be done at low speeds, what type of unseen structural damage would result. It's a unibody, so I'm just wondering what you all think? Interesting topic, Mambo
That depends on the Body Shop. A Frame Machine may not be needed but if it is, many have a Frame Machine that is Computerized and uses Lasers and can get it back into shape, many do not. If the car does not "Dog Trot" it should be fine, if it does, even just a little, it still needs tweaking on the Frame Machine, just as long as the guy running the Frame Machine (if it is needed) does not pull any of the seams apart, or pull to far. David.
I would pass. A lot happens when a car flips. It'll never be the same....no matter who repairs it. Is this car red? There's a video floating around somewhere of a Red GT-500 flipping on a road course. Car got pretty banged up.
