I was just wondering how much a 69 bare unibody weighs. Can it be carried around by 4 or even 6 guys? Thanks for any help.
I don't know about a '69, but I do know a '65 weighs roughly 1100# and could very easily be carried by 4 guys. I can't imagine there's a HUGE difference between a '69 and a '65. The '69 probably weighs 100-200 pounds more. I carried my '65 shell on my shoulders (using a flat 2x6 between the frame rails resting on my shoulders behind my neck) with one other person (he had the front, I had the back) when we picked it up and unloaded it off a trailer I used to move it. I do NOT recommend doing that... my back was pretty well shot for about a week. But 4 people shouldn't be a problem so long as you don't have a weak link in the crew. You're not talking about moving it a long way, right? Just on and off of a trailer or dolly? I built a pretty simple dolly for my shell out of some rigid 2" electrical conduit, a couple angles and a few casters from Home Depot. It's been a life saver for moving the shell around the garage. Hi Josh You lifted the body with just two persons??? WOW! What the hell do you get for dinner every day! Respect. We lifted´a convertible of the trailer but where 4 guys and was heavy enough for me. Bye Jerry
