> Randall, You obviously did not live through 1991 when the values of these cars went from then world record highs, as today, and fall 40 + % nearly over night. Case in point a world record of $88K for a KR conv. was paid at the then prestigious Leake auction in 1988 by a wealthy individual. In 1991 because of other sound investments, art, real estate and cars, he was in a bind and sold the car for $42K I am not being skeptical, but everything cycles and I am afraid that these prices will also. Thats why alot of us choose to enjoy these cars no matter what the price. Jim > From: "Camilla" <campaul1@xtra.co.nz> > Date: 2005/05/10 Tue PM 01:01:11 CDT > To: "Stephen G. =?iso-8859-1?Q?Re:_Re:_Beckers_convert._=A0Record=3F=3F=3F?= I lived thru 1991 and made huge money on both ends of that period's cycle. Different times now, though, as in 1989 - 1991 the folks buying these cars then were from out of the country, speculative investors, etc. etc. This time around the guys that are buying are enthusistis that are keeping what they are buying, thus, making my job of finding these great cars that much harder, thus, allowing me to charge more for pristine "no stories" cars. I think everyone knows what will happen to the old shelby prices (1965 - 1970) when the new shelby mustang comes out in January (!) "gotta have a new one and an old one to match!!" I will be there with 350k GT 500 KR CV's and 400K 1967 GT 500 fastbacks for all to see and buy. Thanks to Ron for the kudos on the sale of the car ----- Original Message ----- From: <jdkeith@cox-internet.com> To: "Camilla" <campaul1@xtra.co.nz>; "Stephen G.
