Hi from Australia

    Hi guys,
    I'm Scott from Australia. I have been into Mustangs for years but have never owned one. Hopefully one day I will be able to park one in my shed.
    I currently have a few Mazda rotaries to keep me happy. Cheap fun really until one day I can get my dream car.

    Do they have all Mustangs in Australia right hand drive??
    Would be interesting to know how many originally where
    shipped to australia with right hand drive.

    Hi guys, thanks for the welcome.

    Jerry_Moss most of the Mustangs you see cruising the streets are imports and not Aussie delivered. Because of the age of them they can easily be registered as a left hand drive and just driven as normal. Its not often you see a right hand drive Mustang although the cost to convert from left to right isn't that huge on the early ones.
    I may have some figures somewhere of how many Aussie delivered ones there were.

    I am in awe of all the cars I have seen on here. There are some beautiful examples of original cars as well as some great restored cars.

    One thing that has interested me is the coding used by Ford etc on the Mustangs. I am used to the Mazda codes which are so basic you would think the Roman's made them. They have no codes to depict any of the features that the car came with, not that Mazda's had many features anyway. They simply use a prefix, for example "S124a" which denotes the engine the car came with. In the case of the "S124a" this car had the 12a rotary engine.
    So you have no way to tell if the car was auto or manual, obviously the tunnels are different shape so not a good example, but also the original colour, any extras such as airconditioning, console etc. So its really hard to get an original car built up.

    Anyway I've started to go on a bit so I better get back to checking out some of your cars.
