Resently I had asked several questions concerning the restoration of the underside of our 1968 GT500 and recieved many helpfull answers as to what to do. As we are moving along nicely on the work and getting ready to put everything back together for the summer I am curious as to whether anyone has any information on what would be an exceptable replacement for shock absorbers. We would like to keep as close to stock as possible. Also we are at the point of desiding to reapply the undercoat to the wheel wells and would like opinions as to whether this should be done in keeping with the original condition of the car.

Calling Tim (he can fix you up with shocks). Yes, you should undercoat the rear wells.

It depends, are you going to be showing the car? If not you can find a set of Motorcraft replacements and paint them original color. I can build you a set of clones but they may be more expensive than what the car needs.
