I Let MY DEALER DRILL THE HOLES WAS THE WRONG THING TO DO,FORD TECH DRILLED THE HOLES TO BIG . SALESMAN HAD TO CALL AND TELL ME THIS. I TOLD THEM TO LEAVE CAR ALONE.I WAS NOT TO HAPPY. I INSTALLED 2 PLASTIC CLIPS THAT PUSH IN .THEY WORKED VERY WELL. I WAS GOING TO INSTALL IN GRILL AREA, BUT DID NOT WANT TO BLOCK ANY OF MASSIVE GRILL AIR INTAKE . I ALSO GOT A FACTORY SHELBY GT500 CAR COVER, NOT TO CHEAP AT 390.00 . DOES ANY ONE KNOW IF THESE ARE WATERPROOF? THANKS MARK.
Hey Mark. I didn't mount the front license plate bracket on my car even though we are required to run a front plate in my state. I hope I never get stopped for it but I plan on leaving it off until I'm made to put it on. I just have these visions of the drill bit skipping over my bumper cover leaving a foot long scratch. I guess when they threaten me with jail time I'll have to but not until then. Sorry I don't know the answer to your question about the car cover. I wanted one too but I thought they were too expensive to justify since It's stored inside anyhow. I just used a soft cotton indoor cover for mine. Enjoy your car!
Don't know if they are water proof or not. Mine came with the car no up charge. I did get the bra for $190.00. I did not get the convertible boot cover with mine. Nor was that in the manifest as an option. Really the only options where the navigation system and the shaker sound system. I got the navigation system. I do not think there was consistancy with respect to options available. Maybe because mine was an export but I do not know?
Hi guys If your looking for a license plate bracket check out my site at www.dmctag.com Airflow around lower intercooler is not an issue. See the pictures of my car, Doug
Ouch on dealer drilling the wrong sized holes; I may have been tempted to make them get a new bumper, but it sounds like they fixed it. The McT is a front plate holder I wasn't familiar with, but it looks very impressive. I bought the following for considerably less and am very happy with it, although the plate does touch the bumper (so I put some plastic stick on pieces to protect the paint). http://www.ccmustangbrackets.com/purchase.html
It takes 2 minutes. You take out 2 spoiler mounting screws and install. It goes up against the bottom of spoiler but he even gives you a 1/2 hi density foam pad to go between bracket and spoiler. Not even close to paint.
What, no one here has used one of these? There's a manual version and a motorized version. I'm ordering the motorized version so I can flip it up from the driver seat when needed. http://www.altecproducts.com/
OEM car cover brochure indicates the cover "sheds water" -- my guess is that's not the same as waterproof. It is meant for indoor and outdoor use
